GREENBRIAR TERRACE HEALTHCARE NAMED RECIPIENT OF NATIONAL QUALITY AWARD
Nashua, New Hampshire (June 21, 2010) – Greenbriar Terrace Healthcare has been named a recipient of a 2010 Silver Quality Award by the American Health Care Association (AHCA) recognizing their significant achievement in the delivery of quality care.
The AHCA National Quality Award Program is based on the core values and criteria of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Program, the nation’s premier recognition for quality achievement. AHCA Quality Awards consist of an entry level Bronze - Commitment to Quality Award; a more rigorous Silver – Achievement in Quality; and the Gold – Excellence in Quality Award which requires them to address the Baldrige Program’s Health Care Criteria for Performance Excellence in its entirety. Greenbriar Terrace Healthcare earned the Bronze award (formerly called the Step I award) in 2004.
Greenbriar Terrace Healthcare is a 300-bed nursing and rehabilitation center that offers a full range of nursing and medical care, including short-term rehabilitative services and long-term skilled care. Greenbriar Terrace Healthcare specializes in orthopedics, medically complex and advanced wound management.

A ceremony for award recipients will be conducted in October at the National AHCA Convention.

Licensed Nursing Assistant Dawn Gehret was recently honored at an event held at the State House in Concord as Greenbriar Terrace’s Licensed Nursing Assistant of the Year. The New Hampshire Health Care Association honors one recipient each year from participating health care facilities for their dedication to caring.
Dawn began working at Greenbriar Terrace in January 2008. Betty Barowski, Director of Nursing, nominated Dawn for consistently providing quality care to residents of Greenbriar’s Alzheimer Unit. “Not only is Dawn a mentor to new staff by facilitating the achieved level of confidence, but Dawn consistently goes above and beyond her duties by providing the “little extras” that make a difference in the lives of those she provides care to,” said Barowski. “She is a source of comfort to families who are struggling with this devastating disease.”
Dawn was nominated for qualities which include; most outstanding performance on a continuous basis; her mentoring and leadership skills; held in high regard by residents, families, peers and management; exemplifies high standards held by the facility.
